Move Over David Beckham!

So Gavin started playing AYSO soccer this year and loves it. He plays on a team called the Fireballs and found the perfect ball to play with as seen in a few of the pics. They have played two games so far and Gavin is doing really well. He is a pretty fast kid and has great ball control for his first year. He has scored a goal in each of the games played and is sure to score a bunch more. We're glad he likes it because we love watching him play!

8 months pregnant!

Here is the latest prego picture, large and in charge!   We are down to six weeks and we couldn't be more excited, well I would probably be more excited if I was done being pregnant, but that is wishful thinking!   (I am actually super grateful I am pregnant!)

I am starting to get the comments that ALL pregnant women love.  For example, "are you having twins?!?!" "So what are you like, due next week?" or I was sitting on a metal bar and a guy says, "hope you don't bend that!"  Got to love those comments, sometimes I wonder how people can say such things without any regard for someone's feelings!  Oh well, what can you do...

Gavin's first day of School!

So gavin started Kindergarten today!  I can't believe it!  First let me apologize for the tons of pictures, but you must know that I did cut quite a few out!  Gavin was at his dads house last night, so he brought him home at 7:30 this morning so I could make him special breakfast for his first day of school.  When he first walked into the house he was greeted by some balloons, streamers and a sign that said...

He then entered the kitchen to find his special breakfast with a candle.  He made his wish out loud and it was, "I wish that I will do good in school so I can go to Stanford."
He then blew out the candle and proceeded to explain how this food made a happy face...

Clay gave him a "Father's Blessing," and we dressed him in the outfit he had picked out and then we were off...

It was now time to walk to school.  This kid could not walk fast enough, he was so excited...

We found his classroom, met his teacher and then it was time to say goodbye.  I was not ready to go yet, but Gavin was ready, so off I went.  I was strong, no tears.  I was super grateful that Gavin was so excited, but man couldn't he be a LITTLE sad?!?!?!  Just kidding!
I can tell you right now what his report card is going to say... "Gavin is a good student but he talks too much!"

Love you Gavin!  I can't believe you are in Kindergarten!!!!

Utah Vacation - August 2008

After 1 1/2 years Clay took his first full week off of work! We were so excited to head to Utah to have some fun and relax! Well, fun we had, but relax... no time for that! We packed so much into our week that I needed another vacation just to recover from that vacation. We went to a wedding, an awesome Indian Jones party for our nephew Parker, golfing, Mt. Timpanogos, skateboarding, floating down the Provo river, Olympic park, shopping, bowling, birthday party at the city pool, and my wonderful mother in law and sister in laws threw me a baby shower! We had such a fun trip, can't wait for the next one!

My little Entrepreneur

Gavin started growing a garden and decided that he wanted to grow the vegetables and then try to sell them to earn money for a dirt bike.  He helped plant the seeds, water the plants, pull the weeds and harvested his vegetables.  He was so excited to have his sale.  He set up a little table downtown on main street and started working the crowd.  This kid only had like 10-15 vegetables but ended up making $61 dollars.  Can you believe it?!?!?!

Big Sur Camping trip

Clay and I have been talking about going camping in Big Sur for so long! We finally were about to make it happen and the one weekend we make it work, there were huge forrest fires! We decided to go anyway. The 1 was closed so we had to take a huge detour. We had a lot of fun with a few minor "not so fun moments." We went with the West's and the Blad's, poor little Marley got sick and spent all of friday night throwing up, they took her to the ER at about 4am, they returned and Marley was back to her cute self. It was pretty smokey and ashy and the boys did not get to surf, and I know they were pretty bummed about it. We didn't get to see some of the prettiest spots due to the closure of the Hwy. Other than that we had a good time. Any time hanging out with my two favorite boys is a good time!

One the way up we went to Hearst's castle and stopped to see the Elephant Seals. When we got to the campsite Gav spent most of his time playing on the playground, collecting rocks, climbing rocks, playing in the little river etc.

Clay and Con came up with an obstacle course on the playground, it was pretty entertaining to watch. Gav loved it, he even taught the course to some older boys the next day, and he sat there and timed them while they ran it. Diana even did the obstacle course. Lucky for them, I am pregnant so I couldn't put there "race times" to shame. Next time guys!!!

On the way home Clay and I drove up to Santa Cruz and relived some of Clay's childhood memories. It was a lot of fun to spend time together and see new places! We will totally have to do it again!

A perfect day! (almost)

It had been hot for several days, so we decided to spend Saturday at Thousand Steps in Laguna Beach. It was the perfect day (except for the fact that we didn't have Gavin with us) We arrived at the beach at about 4:30 and it was SO HOT! Can't imagine if we would have been there an earlier! The boys played in the water and skim boarded. (it was hilarious, there is some pretty funny video of some wipeouts) The girls just hung out, played frisbe, talked and just had the best time. The kids were great and it was so relaxing. We finally left at around 8pm and headed to dinner.

If Gavin was with us, it would have been PERFECT!
